As an integral part of this practice, the Regulatory and Legal Support (R&LS) team plays a vital role in managing risk and ensuring compliance for businesses. The R&LS team is specialized in risk management, compliance, operations, governance, legal and regulatory enforcement action support, transactional flow analysis, legal entity structuring. By aligning people, processes, and technologies, the team guides clients through emerging regulatory regimes globally. It also supports clients who become targets of legal or regulatory enforcement actions by initiating internal investigations, which may include e-discovery and personnel interviews. As part of FSI Compliance and Operational Risk (FCOR) team, professionals work with variety of global insurance, capital markets, and investment management firms, in helping them manage their risks, achieve regulatory compliance, and streamline operations to achieve desired business goals.
Work you will do:
As part of the team, you will engage closely with insurance and investment management clients, gaining insights into their unique challenges, business contexts, and processes to devise solutions tailored to their needs. Also, an integral part of your responsibilities will encompass directing and overseeing Proof-of-Concept endeavors and consulting projects with our Process Intelligence prospects and clients. This includes defining business requirements, analyzing processes, preparing data, and deploying solutions. You will be responsible for transforming the operations of large, complex financial services organizations by analyzing the current state, identifying the gaps, building the suitable target state, and operating them further (as applicable). Additionally, you will be involved in the process of identifying, evaluating, and mitigating potential risks that could hinder the organization’s objectives. You will also be expected to work in large teams, driving client conversations and providing regular updates to client as well as Deloitte leadership.
Desired Experience:
• Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Insurance Industry, including hands-on experience across the lifecycle including but not limited to new product development, underwriting, claims, vendor and third-party management, as well as insurance regulatory landscape and reinsurance.
• Experience working with a financial services consulting organization or a large Insurance firm or GCC (Global Capability Centers) of these Insurance firms.
• Domain Expertise:
o Solid experience within one or more of Life, Group, Health, P&C, Specialty insurance domains
o Understanding of risk management strategy within these insurance domains
o Knowledge of regulations impacting insurance industry, including state wise US Insurance Market Conduct Regulations, Solvency laws, etc.
o Understanding of Insurance operations across various departments such as sales and services, distribution, underwriting, claims, regulatory and risk management, policy administration, customer service, reporting, etc.
• Problem Solving and Analytical Skills: Demonstrate ability to analyse risks and premium calculation as part of reviewing underwriting work and help client take on risks that meet the criteria and ensure premium is appropriate for the risk.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate and interface within large team (act as SME/POC).
• Flexible to work across other adjacent FSI sectors like investment management.
• Other attributes: Quality Assurance, independent contribution with strong collaboration skills contributing to team success, highly organised with eye to detail in managing work within tight deadlines.
• Consulting Experience: Prior external or internal consulting experience is highly valued.
