Software QA Tester, Consultant
As a Software QA Tester, you will be responsible for quality assurance, ensuring each software product adheres to the highest standards and meets specified requirements. Your contributions will be crucial in enhancing our testing methodologies and maintaining standard operating procedures. Collaborating closely with multiple stakeholders, you will design and execute test cases and scenarios that cover functional, non-functional, and negative aspects of the System.
By planning, execution, and reporting of testing activities to ensure the product / feature meets all specifications and requirements, this role directly contributes to the ability to harness data effectively, enhancing decision-making capabilities, and ultimately, competitive advantage in the market. You will be adopting cutting-edge technologies and methodologies which will help drive innovation, adapt to new opportunities, and continuously evolve in an ever-changing business/technological landscape.
Work you’ll do
- Ability to independently own and execute the tasks assigned while providing assistance to junior team members as required
- Ensure high quality outputs incl. assuming responsibility for the work of junior team members
- Develop detailed test plans based on requirements and design specifications.
- Write detailed test cases and scenarios based on requirements and design documents.
- Execute manual and automated test cases, report defects, and track them to closure.
- Work closely with development, product, and business teams to understand requirements, design effective test strategies and ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, test results, and defect reports.
- Perform regression testing to verify that new code changes do not adversely affect existing functionalities.
- Stay updated with the latest testing tools, frameworks, and best practices. Participate in improving the testing process and workflows.
- Communicate test results, progress, and risks to stakeholders, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
Qualifications and Experience
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience as a QA, with hands-on expertise in manual testing methodologies & practices
- Experience with test management tools like JIRA
- Proficiency in defect tracking and management tools
- Strong SQL skills to query databases to validate data and back-end functionality.
- Understanding of Agile Methodologies as most teams work in Agile.
- Knowledge of Git code versioning.
Preferred:
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes (using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and how testing fits into the pipeline.
- Experience with mobile testing tools like Appium.
- Understanding of the specific domain (e.g., healthcare, finance) can be beneficial.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to articulate issues and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
