Deloitte Tax Services India Private Limited started operations in June 2004. Since then, nearly all the Deloitte Tax LLP U.S. service lines and regions have been supported by Deloitte Tax in India. In very recent years, member firms, such as Australia, Belgium, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands or the United Kingdom have been supported within their tax practice by Deloitte Tax India practice.
The UK government provides tax incentives to businesses performing R&D; Deloitte’s R&D tax services group is a market leader in helping clients secure these incentives and is the most experienced team in the UK. We are looking for an open minded engineering professionals with both technical and R&D knowledge, coupled with excellent communication skills. Knowledge of the full engineering lifecycle is sought and an appreciation of the types of technical challenges encountered across this lifecycle.
Work you’ll do
As a Program Manager within our team, you will be in a client facing role from day one, managing engagements, engaging with internal and external technical/ financial teams, orchestrating technical interviews, undertaking project analyses and utilise your project/program management skills to enable the teams to deliver claims for our clients, in a timely and efficient manner.
You will work as part of a project team alongside tax and technology practitioners to help companies to prepare their claims. You will work on multiple projects in parallel and will therefore have to manage several competing demands on your time, and help the team to do the same.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will allow you to gain an understanding of a wide variety of claims and engagements we run across our clients from different industries.
To list some of the key responsibilities:
• Progress Reporting: Develop and deliver comprehensive reports and dashboards for stakeholders highlighting the engagement progress and timeline to delivery. This can include, progress of engagement, budget, WIP, billing schedule.
• Client Communication: Serve as the primary contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress to maintain the relationship.
• Internal Communication: Facilitate clear communication within the project team through regular meetings and collaboration tools
• Cross-Team Communication: Coordinate with Technical, Costing and cross-border engagement teams to ensure alignment and collaboration to deliver claims.
• Timing of Engagements: Develop and maintain detailed engagement schedules, ensuring on-time delivery.
• Organising Technical interviews: Coordinate with the team to schedule client and internal calls/meetings with respective stakeholders.
• Resource Allocation Across Different Projects and Periods: Assist and channelise the resourcing requests/requirements across the teams residing globally.
• Data Validation and Management: Define processes and mechanisms to maintain Engagement Compliance by ensuring all engagement documentation and correspondences are in place.
• Invest in, mentor and train a cohort of analysts/graduates who can then help the engagement teams to follow the set program/project management processes.
• Define necessary processes to emphasise on the one-team culture across our UK and offshore teams
• Lead projects to ensure R&D claims are delivered to time and within budget.
The Team
Our “Global Investment and Innovation Incentives (Gi³)” service line is embedded within Deloitte’s T&L practice and focused on advising companies in their pursuit of the right incentives by developing and executing an effective incentives strategy for their specific needs. The large majority of our Gi³ team members are scientists and engineers. Gi³ team then offers specific related knowledge and added value consultancy. This expertise allows our clients to take advantage of various incentives and grants related to their priorities in terms of Research & Development [R&D], innovation and sustainability. Further development of their intellectual properties and R&D activities can then leverage on those governmental support.
To assist our clients in dealing with those government incentives, our team based in the UK proposes the services of a multi-disciplinary team of over 100 specialists (Lawyers, Economists, Scientists, Engineers or IT-specialists) highly experienced in assisting companies with multi-jurisdictions compliance, dealing with the complexities of local regulations and procedures – such as communicating with local grant and tax authorities, setting up new registrations and preparation & filling of government incentives applications.
We are principally a UK-based team with colleagues in the Deloitte USI at Bangalore and are looking to further build our Bangalore capability.
