Tax Consultant II

Deloitte Tax Services India Private Limited commenced operations in June 2004. Since then, nearly all of the Deloitte Tax LLP (“Deloitte Tax”) U.S. service lines and regions have obtained support through Deloitte Tax in India. Deloitte Tax in India offers you opportunities to learn and support practice U.S. taxation, a much sought-after career option. In recent years, member firms, such as Australia, Belgium, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, etc. have obtained support in their tax related practice through the Deloitte Tax in India.

Work you’ll do
The professional will collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze business requirements, processes, and workflows. They will translate these requirements into functional specifications for the teams and work closely with project managers/Associate Directors, to ensure successful project delivery. The professional will also be involved in identifying areas for process improvement and recommending solutions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities:
1. Requirement Elicitation and Analysis:
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs, objectives, and challenges.
• Elicit, document, and analyze business requirements, processes, and workflows.
• Translate business requirements into clear and concise functional specifications for project teams.

2. Solution Design:
• Collaborate with various teams during busy seasons and closely work with them to deliver quality output within stipulated timeframes.
• Propose innovative and practical solutions to address business challenges.
• Ensure that proposed solutions align with the organization's strategic goals and technological capabilities.

3. Stakeholder Communication:
• Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and various teams.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to various audiences.

4. Documentation:
• Create detailed documentation including business requirements, process flows, use cases, and user stories.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

5. Project Management:
• Collaborate with project managers to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
• Assist in project planning, estimation, and resource allocation.
• Monitor project progress and identify potential risks or deviations from the plan.

6. Quality Assurance:
• Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing, and validation of implemented solutions.
• Ensure that delivered solutions meet the specified requirements and are of high quality.

7. Process Improvement:
• Identify areas for process optimization and efficiency enhancement.
• Recommend process improvements and assist in their implementation.

8. Data Management and Analytics:
• Leverage Alteryx to cleanse, transform, and analyze large sets of data.
• Use Alteryx to automate data workflows and create repeatable processes.
• Design and develop predictive, spatial, and statistical analysis models.

Qualifications:
• Master’s in finance or proven equivalent experience in corporate (preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience in accounting for income under ASC 740, and exposure to IFRS (preferred)
• Hands-on experience with Alteryx Designer, utilizing workflows for data blending, data preparation, and advanced analytics.
• Knowledge of Finance, Accounting, and tax reporting.
• Solid understanding of Processes and mechanics of different accounting standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills including the ability to operate in a deadline driven, dynamic, and collaborative working environment.
• Proficiency in requirement gathering techniques, process modeling, and documentation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and produce deliverables of very high standards.
• Should be well versed with advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge and able to use in real life scenarios.
• Proficient with Microsoft and other technologies such as Microsoft Excel (must), Microsoft Visio (must), PowerBI (must), , etc.
• Experience with tax provision software systems (such as Longview, TRCS) is preferred.
• Certification in Microsoft Excel, PowerBI (e.g., PL-300)
