Deloitte Tax Services India Private Limited commenced operations in June 2004. Since then, nearly all of the Deloitte Tax LLP ("Deloitte Tax") U.S. service lines and regions have obtained support through Deloitte Tax in India. In recent years, member firms, such as Australia, Belgium, Bermuda, Canada, the Cayman Islands, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, etc. have obtained support in their tax related practice through the Deloitte Tax in India.

Work You’ll Do

You would be working with our Bermuda, Cayman Islands, and Virgin Islands based US Business Tax team members (i.e. 30+ US tax professionals based permanently in the Caribbean and Bermuda region) and will enjoy the unique opportunity to broaden your network across the firm as a whole. This dynamic group provides exposure to an unrivalled client portfolio of multinational companies and a variety of tax work including compliance and consulting projects.

Key Responsibilities

✓ Perform detail-review of tax workpapers, allocations, and US federal, state, and local corporation, partnership, and trust tax returns and computations using standard procedures, across a range of financial services clients.

✓ Working with an integrated partner/manager/assistant manager team on sizeable US tax compliance engagements for multinational clients, including maintaining responsibility for preparation of materials and research for complex tax compliance and consulting projects related to tax planning opportunities, including those prepared by junior team members.

✓ Requesting and obtaining tax information from clients and third parties.

✓ Communicating with clients to explain positions taken on tax returns, filing requirements, payment instructions, etc.

✓ Training, mentoring, and supervising new and experienced-level staff.

The Team

Deloitte India (Offices of the Caribbean and Bermuda Countries [CBC]) US Tax Compliance Group based in Hyderabad specializes in three core areas: US corporation and partnership federal, state, and local tax return preparation, electronic filing of the returns and research and writing tax technical memorandums on a range of topics related to US corporate and partnership taxation in an international context. On taking up a position with the US team you will have the opportunity to focus on at least two of these core specialties.

The Caribbean and Bermuda Countries member firm tax professionals who work in the US business tax practice are based in Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, and the Virgin Islands. This team of 30+ permanent professionals ranges in grades from Partner to new tax consultant who are trained as US Certified Public Accountants, IRS Enrolled Agents, bar-admitted lawyers and/or master’s degree graduates, and serves a client base consisting of a range of financial services industry clients, including hedge funds, private equity funds, fund-of-funds, and insurance companies.

Required Qualifications

✓ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related field

✓ 8+ years of experience in US corporate and partnership tax compliance, including knowledge of, and experience using, US income tax software and standard US tax research tools

✓ Enrolled Agent (EA) certification (or in the process of pursuing)

✓ Strong accounting knowledge and interest in US tax, including extensive US corporation and partnership experience related to hedge funds or private equity

✓ Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, including strong written and verbal communication

✓ Experience with managing projects, including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence, billing, team development, and mentoring

✓ High level of attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical problem-solving abilities

✓ Can work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

✓ Knowledge of Microsoft Office products — in particular, Excel, Word, and Sharepoint
