Introduction:
Join our dynamic team as a Learning Technology Developer and contribute to advancing our educational and training platforms. We are looking for a knowledgeable developer with expertise in eLearning tools, including the Adapt Authoring Tool and Adapt Framework, to enhance and expand our eLearning solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Template Design and Development: Design and develop new templates using the Adapt Framework that align with modern eLearning standards and enhance user engagement. Ensure templates are responsive across all devices and browsers.
  • Component Creation: Build custom components within the Adapt Authoring Tool for specific functionality or content display that can be reused across various courses. These components should be versatile, accessible, and easily integrated into existing and new templates.
  • Innovation in Template and Component Features: Continuously innovate by researching and implementing new features within Adapt to improve interactivity, accessibility, and learner engagement.
  • Usability and Accessibility Testing: Test new templates and components, especially those built in Adapt, for usability and accessibility to ensure compliance with WCAG guidelines and provide a seamless user experience.
  • Documentation and Guidelines: Develop comprehensive documentation and usage guidelines for new templates and components, enabling other developers and content creators to effectively utilize these new creations.
  • Collaborative Development: Collaborate with instructional designers and UI/UX designers to ensure that the templates and components meet educational goals and aesthetic standards.
  • Feedback Implementation: Gather feedback from end-users and stakeholders on the effectiveness of the templates and components, including those developed in Adapt, and iterate on designs based on this feedback to enhance functionality and user experience.
  • Version Control and Updates: Maintain and update templates and components, particularly those created in Adapt, with new versions, managing changes and enhancements through version control systems.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding and proven experience with eLearning tools, including the Adapt Authoring Tool and Adapt Framework, with the ability to create and manage custom templates, components, and extensions.
  • Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and a solid grasp of Backbone.js for structuring web applications, particularly within the Adapt Framework.
  • Backend Development: Experience in developing server-side logic using Node.js with a strong focus on integrating with MongoDB for database management.
  • Experience with Responsive Design: Demonstrable experience in developing responsive web applications or eLearning modules, including those developed in Adapt, that function seamlessly across multiple devices and platforms.
  • Understanding of eLearning Standards: Familiarity with eLearning standards such as SCORM, xAPI, AICC, and adherence to WCAG guidelines for accessibility.
  • Handlebars.js Experience: Proficient in using Handlebars.js for creating efficient, reusable HBS templates that enhance frontend dynamics and user experience.
