The team
The Risk & Brand Protection group is responsible for strategic, confidential and regulatory driven operations which include assurance of the independence of the firm and its partners, principals, directors and professionals, apart from a host of other compliances of professionals of the U.S. and US India (‘USI’) offices.
Work you’ll do
As a part of this team, you will be involved with:
- Developing a strong working knowledge of Deloitte U.S. Firms’ independence policies.
- Performing personal independence audits of the Deloitte U.S. Firms’ partners, principals, directors, and managers by applying a detailed audit process and reviewing submitted audit materials for compliance with Deloitte U.S. Firms’ independence policies.
- Identifying financial interests in submitted audit materials. Research financial interests using Deloitte internal databases and the internet. Documenting the results of audit procedures and potential independence policy violations. Render a conclusion on potential violations identified during the audits.
- Direct interactions (oral and written) with auditees.
- Work closely with the other team members (in USI and U.S.), develop effective practices, and collectively develop a base of knowledge used to consistently address independence scenarios that arise.
- Managing multiple audits simultaneously, track progress, and report to local management their progress and any issues that arise.
- Effectively communicating with local and U.S. peers, reviewers, and management.
Qualifications:
- Should have passed intermediate examinations of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
- Successful completion of three years’ articleship
Required Skillset:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to execute audit work programs with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Apply organizational policies to various fact patterns, analyze problems and facilitate solutions.
- Ability to quickly become familiar with U.S. income tax returns, confidently navigate the tax code and review key sections relevant to the audit.
- Understanding of various financial instruments that auditees may invest in and their impact on auditees’ independence.
- Proficient with MS Office suite (primarily, MSWord and MS Excel).
Work Location: Hyderabad
Shift Timings: 11 AM to 8 PM or 2 PM to 11 PM IST as per business requirements.
