Server Infrastructure Engineer (Senior Analyst) – Infrastructure Server Solutions
The ITS Operations function is accountable for the delivery of all internal technology infrastructure – including Server, Storage & Backup, Cloud Infra, Exchange, Skype, File Services as well as platforms underpinning SQL, SAP, Enterprise (IT) Security Services. It also provides technology that supports the service lines in delivering client facing or client engagements as part of its Client IT services
Work you’ll do
Infrastructure Server Solutions team manages & supports the virtual estate comprising of Hyper-V & VMware. We are seeking a skilled Server Hardware Support Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining server hardware infrastructure, utilizing tools such as HP OneView and iLO Amplifier for effective monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
Operational
1. Server Hardware Management:
- Deploy, configure, and maintain server hardware systems across multiple locations.
- Ensure optimal performance, reliability, and availability of servers.
- Managing HP C7000 / HP Synergy hardware is a must have skill.
- iLO configuration management like LDAP settings, network configuration and iLO troubleshooting skills
2. Tools Utilization:
- Proficiently use HP OneView and iLO Amplifier for monitoring, managing, and provisioning server hardware.
- Configure and troubleshoot server components remotely using these tools.
- Configure and troubleshoot Server Profiles, Networks, iLOs
- Clear understanding of OneView / Synergy Interconnects, Logical Interconnects
- OneView appliance management, like backup, access and certificate management.
3. Hardware Monitoring and Maintenance:
- Monitor server hardware health, performance metrics, and environmental conditions.
- Implement proactive measures to prevent hardware failures and optimize performance.
4. Hardware Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and resolve hardware issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Escalate to vendor support or engineering teams as needed for complex problems.
5. Firmware and Driver Management:
- Manage server firmware updates and driver installations to ensure compatibility and security.
- Schedule and perform firmware upgrades during maintenance windows.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of hardware inventory, configurations, and maintenance activities.
- Generate reports on hardware health, performance trends, and incidents.
7. Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with IT teams, including network engineers and system administrators, to support infrastructure projects and initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance and support to staff members as required.
Location: Hyderabad
Work shift Timings: 02:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Qualifications
· Bachelor of Engineering/ Bachelor of Technology
· 4 to 6 years’ experience in a similar role and Enterprise organisation
Essential
· Experience in a similar role and Enterprise organization
· Strong knowledge in HP server hardware management
· Good understanding of the HP One View product and supported technologies
· Work with vendors where necessary to ensure software and hardware are keep within supported versions
· Good understanding of storage technologies
· Experience in monitoring / managing Server estate and infrastructure.
· Exceptional communications skills, both written and verbal
· ITIL Service Operations knowledge preferred (Event Management, Incident Management, Change Management, and Problem Management)
· Knowledge on vendor management
· Be able to communicate effectively, technical issues with technical and non-technical audience
Good to have:
· Server Virtualization with Windows Server Hyper-V and System Center
· ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation
· knowledge of Windows Server operating systems including MS Clustering, PowerShell, Active Directory, DNS and Group Policy
