Technical Specialist – Junior Platform Engineer - Deloitte Support Services India Private Limited
The ITS Operations function is accountable for the delivery of all internal technology infrastructure – including Cloud (Azure and AWS), Email, Skype, File Services as well as platforms underpinning SAP, Enterprise (IT) Security Services. It also provides technology that supports the service lines in delivering client facing or client engagements as part of its Client IT services
Work you’ll do
As a Junior Platform Engineer for Deloitte, you will be engaged in exciting and varied work streams. Your role will focus on provisioning, monitoring, maintaining and supporting platforms and applications throughout their lifecycle, including cloud-based, off-the-shelf and bespoke applications. You will also be responsible for developing the skills needed to effectively manage the applications/platforms required to deliver IT services
Responsibilities
Working within a diverse team across multiple geographies and collaborating with Microsoft you will be involved in a variety of tasks ranging from developing automation, streamlining operational procedures, and building out cloud infrastructure consisting of the latest available public cloud services. We are looking for a talented Senior Azure Platform Engineer to join us on our journey as we expand our services.
· Work within a DevSecOps environment, championing collaboration, automation and continuous improvement of both our application platforms and ways of working
· Supporting and maintaining enterprise-scale application environments, server software, web services and applications
· Respond to service outages which affect Deloitte’s business operations and reputation, including out of hours escalations as part of a 24 x 7 on-call rota
· Ensuring key operational processes are developed, maintained and prioritized, including reporting and alerting, incident, change, configuration, and problem management processes
· Maintain the performance, availability and security of application platforms, with a focus on continuous improvement.
· Carrying out daily maintenance tasks
· Develop and maintain management information reports for key areas, such as service metrics, infrastructure optimisation and risk
· Maintain compliance to global technology standards and best practice
· Support and champion a cloud first approach to platform operations
· Proposing technologies/technical approaches to solving business problems
· Working closely with multiple stakeholders across the product/application/platform lifecycle
· Working collaboratively as part of an empowered agile team, delivering value early and often
Requirements
· Can-do, pragmatic, hands-on and innovative style of working
· Strong knowledge of web technologies and application stacks
· Experience of provisioning, supporting and troubleshooting on-prem and cloud infrastructure (Azure & AWS)
· Experience working with business stakeholders to understand business problems and suggest viable solutions
· Strong understanding and experience of agile methodologies, such as SCRUM.
· Windows Server Operating System experience essential and Linux and advantage
· Demonstrable ability to adapt to new technologies, learning quickly and sharing this knowledge with others
· Experience working with DevOps/Application Lifecycle Management tools, particularly Azure DevOps, automation and methodologies used to deploy solutions to both cloud and on-premises environments
· Strong troubleshooting skills
· Strong knowledge of typical web/application architecture patterns
· Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python etc.
· Exposure to networking and load balancing technologies DHCP, DNS, firewalls and VPNs
· Understanding of security best practices
· Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written, including ability to articulate solutions to a senior as well as a detailed/technical audience
· You invest in your own development by staying up to date on technology changes and have a broad awareness of wider technology trends
· Strong team player
· Part of an on call 24x7 rota
Experience in the following is desirable:
· Operation and support of large, on-Prem, multi-account public cloud platforms
· Good to have MS AZ-400, AZ-104 certification.
· Any On-prem/cloud administrator and worked in DevSecOps Enviroment
· Experience of agile project management approaches and product ownership experience (SCRUM, Kanban)
· Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud (knowledge of cloud resource deployment principles or usage of specific cloud technologies)
· Experience of administering and operating medium/large enterprise infrastructure and services in on-Prem, public cloud environments, including configuring backup, monitoring, patching and security of cloud resources

Work shift Timings: 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM (IST)
Qualifications
· Bachelor of Engineering/ Bachelor of Technology
· 4 – 6 years’ experience in a similar role and Enterprise organisation.
