Tech Insights Lead, Senior Consultant
Deloitte’s US Office of the CTO (OCTO) is looking for a senior consultant to join its Market Making: Tech Brand and Positioning team as Tech Insights Specialist to strengthen Deloitte’s emerging technology brand permission through exemplary thought leadership.
Work you’ll do
The Tech Insights Specialist will be a tech-savvy team member who will support or drive a variety of activities related to producing our flagship research reports and other tech eminence. Activities include:
Shaping, writing, research, & analysis
· Research and write thought leadership, research reports, case studies, blog posts, and other publications as assigned
· Compile research on emerging technologies and use cases
· Interview subject matter experts and clients on emerging technology trends and use cases
· Adapt original publications into multiple derivative pieces such as blog posts, press releases, executive summaries, etc.
· Manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and independently
· Present and evangelize research findings to Deloitte clients and stakeholders
Project management and collaboration
· Develop ongoing relationships with emerging tech experts, futurists, and practice teams.
· Manage project planning and execution of work, including developing schedules and milestones; recruiting, deploying, and managing volunteers/team members; managing and communicating status, issues, and risks; key stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration.
· Support and collaborate across Market-Making threads (Account and Client Engagement and Marketing and Brand) to elevate the team’s impact and work and accurately represent Deloitte’s emerging tech brand.
· Supporting broad Market-Making initiatives and activities, as needed, including research, presentation, events, etc.
The Team
The mission of Deloitte’s US Office of the CTO (OCTO) is to identify and incubate emerging tech market demand while cultivating talent and enabling businesses for future growth. Within OCTO, the Market-Making: Tech Branding and Positioning team supports the OCTO mission by establishing Deloitte as a thought leader and the firm of choice for transformative and disruptive tech by growing brand permission and lead generation.
Qualifications and Experience
Required:
· Years of experience commensurate to a senior consultant (5+ years in relevant project, consulting experience, and/or client engagement and project management roles)
· Experience with research, writing, interviewing, developing, and proofreading research and thought leadership publications is ideal
· Broad understanding of emerging technology trends along with a firm foundation in the core principles of technology
· Strong project management and organizational skills including ability to scope, plan and manage to achieve overall objectives
· Self-starter, natural problem solver with strong ability to apply structured thinking to challenges and apply phased approach to next steps
· Ability to “manage up" by driving consensus among stakeholders to reach common goals, continue building, and drive collective work forward
· Strong executive presence and communication skills including strong storytelling abilities—translating technical topics into business impacts (both verbal and written)
· Proven ability to build and maintain relationships
· Innovation-driven mindset and willingness to explore new ideas and processes
· Excellent attention to detail and focus on producing high-quality work products
· Proven ability to operate effectively in a hybrid/virtual, multi-disciplinary, and international team in a large, matrixed organization
· Flexibility/adaptability – comfortable with ambiguity, change, and continually evolving priorities.
· Strong value for diversity and ability to team and collaborate effectively
