Senior Manager - Global Consulting Services - Senior Project Controller
Overview of the role
The professional will spearhead operations and financial management for the Ascend suite, collaborating closely with Global and MF COOs, and finance leaders to deliver transparency and valuable insights. This pivotal role involves driving visibility and accountability for co-investment and expenses across Ascend suites, while establishing and maintaining robust standards and risk controls. This ensures that Member Firms (MFs) and Global, within the SR&T and T&T businesses, benefit from enhanced governance and greater transparency over their investments.
Core Responsibilities
We are seeking a person with at least 15 years of experience in the internal or external consulting space with strong financial management skills, including investment modeling, contract management, and an excellent command of English language.
Strategic Direction
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the Global COO team, MF COOs, and Finance leaders, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor on operational and financial information for Ascend suites.
- Offer expert guidance and a clear point of view on inputs necessary for accurate financial planning, cost management, reporting, and related matters for Ascend suites.
- Redesign contracting and reporting processes to enhance transparency and provide stakeholders with efficient and intuitive views of the Ascend suite information.
- Drive operational efficiency and streamline Ascend suite information generation.
Investment Model & Governance
- Collaborate with stakeholders to review and validate inputs to cost projections, ensuring accuracy and completeness in financial planning and budgeting.
- Work closely with the Global and MF teams to determine costs across all aspects of Ascend and related delivery tools
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving initiatives and drive efficiency improvements across the organization.
- Conduct comprehensive cost analysis of global instance(s), providing insights into cost drivers, trends, and opportunities for optimization.
Contract Management / Reconciliation
- Collaborate with the respective Program Managers to review vendor invoices and regularly reconcile the commitments outlined in contracts with the actual work outcomes or objectives achieved by various stakeholders.
- Keep track of the financial aspect of contracts including the burn rate for all the programs, identify variances and flag them as required.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with contract execution.
Investment Summit & Chargeback Model
- Collaborate with the COO Pillar and Global teams for the development of the financial models underpinning assumptions for the cost and value of Ascend and aligning on the related presentation material for the Investment Summit(s)
- Collaborate with COO Pillar to align on the MF cost allocation methodologies.
- Ensure the framework aligns with the established governance model, while maintaining consistency and accuracy in cost allocation across MFs
Requisite core skills
- Strong financial planning, cost management and reporting experience.
- Proven leadership and team management experience, including mentoring junior team members.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex information effectively with Senior audiences.
- Data Analysis: Ability to analyze operational and financial data and generate actionable insights.
- Problem-Solving: Proficiency in identifying issues and devising effective solutions
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Ability to work closely with multiple teams and stakeholders, including Technology and Infrastructure teams.
- Stakeholder Management: Skills in collaborating with stakeholders to understand and where appropriate challenge cost drivers, including hourly rates, technology costs, FTE requirements, and to review cost projections.
- Results-Driven: ability to independently create and execute a project plan to deliver timely and high-quality input.
- Strong influencing, persuasion, and negotiation skills
- Agility and flexibility in adapting to a dynamic and hybrid environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail, responsiveness, and a strong track record of executing high impact initiatives.
- Academic qualification: Masters’ degree like MBA Finance (nice to have)
- Work experience: 15+ years.
- Strong track record with previous employment, preferably with consulting firms or corporate strategy
Location: Hyderabad
Work hours: 02:00 PM – 11:00 PM (expected to be flexible with time zones)
Comfortable working with team members and stakeholders across geographies and time zones
