Job Purpose
The purpose of the job is to identify any potential conflicts of interest of new or existing engagements. The conflicts process process looks at internal Deloitte relationships with the parties and the impact of the new engagement on existing relationships. The process also identifies matters that need to be considered, or complied with, from an independence perspective, as well as other professional objectivity and legal requirements.
Work you will do
As an R&BP Analyst, you should be able to consistently apply a base of knowledge to matters that arise, identify, and resolve exceptions to policies and professional standards in a timely manner. Your key responsibilities would include:
- Conduct detailed external research on company ownership / affiliations both with specialized research tools and public information to identify all related parties for a conflict check.
- Search various internal databases for relationships that may be in potential conflict with a new proposal.
- Review the proposed scope of services to be provided and analyze the search results to help identify potential conflicts that may arise from the service offering.
- Recommend action items to address potential conflicts
- Prepare and circulate a conflict check message to the affected personnel, monitor the responses received and liaise with other conflicts team members in the Deloitte network.
- Promptly escalate any potential conflict or other issues to management for resolution.

The team
The R&BP group plays a critical role in enhancing, preserving and protecting the reputation of the Deloitte organization. Our group is focused on strategic, confidential and regulatory risk matters which include ensuring Independence of the organization, Partners, Directors, Senior Managers and Managers, apart from conducting a host of compliance monitoring activities for all the professionals in the U.S, India and other member firm offices. The Centre of Excellence comprises various teams operating databases with client and affiliate information, monitoring conflicts of interest, monitoring data privacy, and monitoring investments of organization personnel. The group supports the Deloitte U.S. National Office as well as global Deloitte member firms.
We are in an internal Deloitte U.S. Firms professional service position that supports member firms of the Deloitte organization. Functions within R&BP include Independence Operations, Independence Audits, Conflicts, Independence Representations, Discipline, and Ethics & Compliance. The team interacts/coordinates frequently with other members across the member firms’ risk and regulatory affairs groups to effectively serve Deloitte professionals.
Qualifications and experience
Required:
- Educational Qualification: MBA/PGDM (Finance) with 2-3 years of experience. (60% or 6.5 GPA and above throughout without any running backlogs)
- Ability to become well versed in the Firm’s Conflicts of Interest and Know Your Client policies and other related firm policies
- Solid research skills and familiarity with various research tools (D&B, WorldCheck, Factiva, Quicklaw)
- Excellent verbal and written business communication skills, prior exposure to international business correspondence a plus
- Ability to apply Firm policies to various fact patterns
- Ability to follow work programs with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to analyze problems and facilitate solutions
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion
- Excellent organizational aptitude and interpersonal skills
- Ability to quickly learn technical tools including Microsoft Office applications and other database tools
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Good sense of urgency and ability to prioritize multiple competing business demands.
- Should be flexible and may be required to work outside of normal business hours during peak periods

Work Timings: 2 p.m. – 11 p.m.
