Consultant / Senior Consultant/ Manager – Life Actuarial 

The Consultant/Senior Consultant will support transformation and migration projects, consulting engagements, and audit work by applying US GAAP, STAT, TAX, IFRS 17, and LDTI regulations. Additionally, the professional will utilize their modeling and technical skills to develop or modify actuarial tools that validate various financial cash flows and results generated by life insurance companies.

Manager will lead transformation and migration projects, audit and consulting projects by applying actuarial methodologies in accordance with various accounting and regulatory regimes.

 

 

Work you’ll do

The work may include one or more items from the below list (not exhaustive):

  • Work in GGY/Moody’s Axis modelling projects
  • Involve in transformation/migration from one actuarial software to another
  • Build/modify excel spreadsheets/actuarial software that project and validate the cashflows generated by  models
  • Acquire knowledge and remain well versed with US products and Regulations
  • Apply US GAAP, STAT and TAX, IFRS17 and LDTI regulations to products for calculating reserves, and other cashflows
  • Work on Prophet, GGY/Moody’s Axis, Polysystems or Moses actuarial models. 
  • Interpret assumptions and experience studies results of insurance companies

For Senior Consultant

 

In addition to the above expectations, person at senior consultant level may also be expected to perform following responsibilities (not exhaustive):

  • Lead current projects with minimal support from project managers
  • Help in training, mentoring, and motivating junior staff. 
  • Bridge the knowledge gap within the team and provide overall perspective.
  • Develop and maintain client/internal relationships.

 

For Managers:

In addition to the above expectations, person at Manager level may also be expected to perform following responsibilities (not exhaustive):

  • Lead or support in sales activities 
  • Supervise work performed by junior team members
  • Lead various internal projects and initiatives. 

 

The team

Our actuarial consultants provide a full-range of life insurance auditing, and consulting services to clients. We help our clients combine data, processes, and technology to provide valuable business insights and ensure accurate financial and statutory reporting of their business results. Our team members work collaboratively and apply their specialized knowledge and experience to help clients navigate complex financial and statutory reporting concepts. We offer deep insights into their business practices and procedures and help them make more informed decisions to enhance their business’ efficiencies.

 

Qualification:

Consultant:

  • Graduation/Post Graduation with mathematics/statistics or any subject with sizeable mathematical content
  • The candidate is expected to be pursuing Actuarial certification form IFOA, IAI or SOA. And should have at least cleared 2-5 actuarial exams. Specifically, CT1 (CM1), CT3 (CS1), CT5 (CM1) & ST2(SP2).
  • Relevant work experience of 3-8 years in life insurance actuarial domain.

Senior Consultant

  • Qualified or near-qualified actuary (Preferably cleared SP2).
  • Relevant work experience of 8 years and more in life insurance actuarial domain.

Manager

  • Qualified or near-qualified actuary (Preferably cleared SP2).
  • Relevant work experience of 11 years and more in life insurance actuarial domain.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in GGY/Moody’s AXIS Modelling will be preferred.
  • Candidates with modelling experience and software migration experience will be preferred.
  • Advance knowledge and experience in Actuarial software including AXIS, Prophet, Moses shall be critical factor for hiring.
  • Strong experience of US GAAP, US STAT, LDTI or IFRS 17 shall be preferred.
  • Strong US Product knowledge is expected, with experience in Reserving, Valuation or Reporting.
  • Candidate is expected to possess strong life actuarial technical skills with a strong consulting mindset. Who could work on multiple clients and have extremely good communication skills.
