CORE BUSINESS OPERATIONS

The Core Business Operations (CBO) portfolio is an integrated set of offerings that addresses our clients’ heart-of-the-business issues. This portfolio combines our functional and technical capabilities to help clients transform, modernize, and run their existing technology platforms across industries. As our clients navigate dynamic and disruptive markets, these solutions are designed to help them drive product and service innovation, improve financial performance, accelerate speed to market, and operate their platforms to innovate continuously.

ROLE

Level: Analyst     

As an Analyst at Deloitte Consulting, you will be responsible for individually delivering high quality work products within due timelines in an agile framework.

The work you will do includes:

• Responsible for completing the financial clearance process and perform daily Financial Clearance activities.

• Perform financial clearance processes by collecting and recording all necessary information for pre-registration of patients.

• Verify insurance eligibility and completes automated insurance eligibility verification, when applicable and appropriately documents information in Epic.

• Confirm that a patient’s health insurance(s) is active and covers the patient’s procedure.

• Confirm what benefits of a patient’s upcoming visit/stay are covered by the patient’s insurance(s) including exact coverage, effective date of the policy, coverage limitations / requirements, and patient liabilities for the type of service(s) provided.

• Generate proactive price estimates.

• Review and analyzes patient visit information to determine whether authorization is needed and understands payor specific criteria to appropriately secure authorization and clear the account prior to service where possible.

• Ensure that initial and all subsequent authorizations are obtained in a timely manner

• May provide mentoring to less experienced team members on all aspects of the revenue cycle, payer issues, policy issues, or anything that impacts their role.

Skills / Project Experience:

Must Have:

• High School or GED required.

• 2 - 3 years’ experience with Insurance and Benefit Verification, Pre-Registration and/or Prior Authorization activities in healthcare business office/insurance operations required

• Experience working with clinical staff.

Education:

B.E./B. Tech/M.C.A./M.Sc. (CS) degree or equivalent from accredited university   

Prior Experience:

2+ years of experience with Insurance and Benefit Verification, Pre-Registration and/or Prior Authorization activities in healthcare business office/insurance operations required
