Analyst – Data Scientist - Deloitte Support Services India Private Limited

Work you’ll do

The Deloitte Technology US is seeking a Data Scientist who will work as part of a cross-functional agile team to launch innovative AI-driven Data and Analytics products. The ideal candidate will utilize their extensive technical knowledge to define the data and AI architecture for our portfolio of products; Articulate a vision and define the correct tooling, technologies, and approach to guide a multi-disciplined engineering team towards execution; Collaborate with team of analytics engineer, Human Centered Design engineer/Designer, web developer and data engineers to design and develop software products that transform global mission.

Responsibilities

  1. Works with stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging meaningful data to drive business solutions.
  2. Mines and analyzes data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.
  3. Assesses the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
  4. Develops custom data, ML/DL models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
  5. Uses predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences.
  6. Coordinates with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
  7. Develops processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
  8. Creates new, experimental frameworks to collect data and build tools to automate data collection.
  9. Follow hands-on technical thought leadership to solve large & complex business problems through AI/ML capabilities.
  10. Evaluate different technical approaches to solve problems and articulate recommendations on the right methodologies that data scientists and engineers can follow.
  11. Develop proofs of concept to verify hypotheses.
  12. Interpret the AI/ML models that are being generated and communicate the design and outcomes to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  13. Play a hands-on role in in the agile software development lifecycle by reviewing user stories, grooming backlogs, and participating in system reviews.
  14. Understand Deloitte's strategic and competitive position and deliver products that are recognized as cutting-edge and best in the industry

Required Technical Skills:

  • Strong programming skills: Proficiency in languages like Python or R is essential. Experience with SQL for data retrieval and manipulation.
  • Knowledge of statistical concepts and techniques such as hypothesis testing, regression analysis, time series analysis, and machine learning algorithms.
  • Experience in cleaning, transforming, and preparing data for analysis. Familiarity with techniques like data imputation, outlier detection, and feature engineering.
  • Practical experience with various machine learning algorithms like decision trees, random forests, logistic regression, support vector machines, and neural networks. Knowledge of model evaluation and validation techniques.
  • Experience in analyzing and forecasting time series data, understanding concepts like seasonality, trend, and autocorrelation.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for deploying and managing data science projects.
  • Analytical mind with proven ability to dissect problems, devise data science solutions, and drive business outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to convey complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Good at engaging Business stakeholders and apt at Business engagement and requirement discovery.
  • Analytical ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks into manageable work products.

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements

Experience developing on AWS/GCP/Azure cloud platform.

Education:

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience

Experience:  

  • 2+ years of experience working with data architectures, data models, and data security and data governance.
  • 2+ years of experience in developing, implementing and maintaining machine learning and advanced statistical algorithms.
  • 2+ years of experience working with large quantitative and qualitative datasets both hands on and managing teams doing the work.
  • 2+ years of experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SLQ, etc.)
  • 2+ years of experience working with data science tools and algorithms, e.g., TensorFlow/Keras, PyTorch, Spacy and NLP/LLMs.
  • 1+ years of experience developing on AWS/GCP/Azure cloud platform.

Good to have

  • Foundational certification on cloud platform (GCP/AWS/Azure)
  • Basic knowledge of data engineering concepts like data pipelines, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data warehousing.
  • Ability to effectively communicate insights and findings through storytelling techniques, using data visualizations and narratives.
