ABOUT THE TEAM (CSAD): Customer Strategy and Applied Design (CS&AD) offering, as part of Customer & Marketing portfolio, helps companies address the entire range of top management challenges including pursuing new growth opportunities, customer engagement and service strategies, channel strategies, pricing strategies, as well as marketing and sales strategies and efficiencies.

With extensive industry relationships and insights, we assist clients in identifying opportunities to optimize resources and maximize value across the entire customer journey, spanning various channels, customer segments, and experiences. Through testing and learning, we determine the most valuable path, whether it involves launching a new business, pricing a service, targeting a different customer group, or exploring a new channel. We aid clients in defining their future customer operating model, encompassing roles, processes, structures, and technology platforms, all aimed at generating business value. Our work positions us at the forefront of numerous complex and unique C&M deals, bringing a business value perspective to all aspects of C&M operations.

JOB DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a Strategic Designer who possesses a unique blend of business strategy and design expertise. This role requires understanding the ability to apply design thinking principles to drive strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will collaborate with global leaders to develop and execute product strategies, marketing, and communication strategies that align with the firm's overall business objectives. They will be responsible for enhancing the firm's brand value, promoting its services and products, and delivering impactful design solutions. This role demands a critical and strategic thinker who keeps abreast of emerging trends in both business strategy and design, and who can work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of design solutions into broader business strategies. The Strategic Designer will play a pivotal role in shaping the firm's competitive advantage through innovative and visually compelling design strategies.

As a Strategic Design Consultant, you will be integral to our multi-disciplinary teams. You will use your broad design expertise to guide the conception, prototyping, and launch of solutions to our clients’ most complex challenges. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Collaborate with clients to understand their strategic objectives, business goals, and customer needs.
2. Lead the synthesis of complex and varied information from numerous inputs into cohesive, compelling stories that are told through presentations, videos, websites, and more
3. Aid in crafting and enhancing design-driven models for bringing ideas to life, encompassing financial considerations, market understanding, evaluating capabilities, projecting revenues, and more.
4. Shape compelling business cases for human-centred solutions by delving into market dynamics, understanding customer desires, and highlighting unique value propositions.
5. Perform analyses on return on investment (ROI) to gauge the viability and potential advantages of strategic initiatives, ensuring they align with human centred goals.
6. Contribute to the development of go-to-market plans, including market entry strategies, product positioning, pricing strategies, and customer acquisition plans
7. Assist in the operational validation of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational capabilities, resources, and processes
8. Understand the technology landscape and build digital strategies to uncover new sources of value and opportunities.
9. Define and develop concepts and prototypes of products, services, and experiences at varying levels of fidelity – often by guiding a small team that may include designers with varying kinds of expertise
10. Use interdisciplinary thinking to ground all ideas in research insights, business needs, and design constraints and stretch the ambition of our teams and our clients
11. Apply design thinking principles to develop innovative strategies, business models, and customer-centric solutions.
12. Lead workshops, brainstorming sessions, and design sprints to facilitate ideation and problem-solving.
13. Create compelling visual representations, including journey maps, personas, and prototypes, to communicate design concepts and strategies effectively.
14. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including technology, marketing, and operations, to ensure seamless implementation of design solutions.
15. Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to clients based on industry best practices and emerging trends.
16. Stay updated on the latest advancements in design thinking, user experience, and innovation methodologies.
17. Develop as a leader within a like-minded community of designers, local and global, with incredible opportunities for mentorship and career growth

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Master's degree in Design or a related field.
2. An instinct to infuse empathy and behavioral analysis into all aspects of your work and advocate for it within teams and with non-designer colleagues
3. A passion for human-centered design and the drive to champion it to our clients
4. Proven experience as a strategic design consultant, innovation strategist, or similar role
5. Strong knowledge of design thinking methodologies and their application in business contexts
6. Proficient in conducting market research, competitive analysis, and trend identification
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively
8. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively
9. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
10. Experience with design tools and softwares
11. Experience in product management, product design role, UX Design, persona development, journey mapping, concept testing, product strategy etc.
12. Skill in building rapport and durable relationships with clients
13. Willingness to assume a leadership role in the I&PS community, guiding junior team members as we push the boundaries to advance our design discipline
14. Experience across Retail, Consumer Goods & Industrial Products, Technology, Media & Telecom (TMT), Life Sciences and Healthcare and BFSI preferable. Understanding nuances of B2B v/s B2C marketing would be appreciated
15. Understanding of how technology capabilities and their adjacencies can drive new value and open fresh opportunities in the near term

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES: Customer Research, Design Thinking, Business Case Development, Go-To-Market Planning, Market Sizing, Human Centred Design, Interaction Design, Design tool proficiency in sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, InVision etc., New Venture/Business Design and Launch, Product Management, familiarity with front-end development and testing techniques
