Tier 3 Security Event Monitoring – Technical Specialist - Deloitte Support Services India Private Limited 

Work you will do:

As part of the Global Cybersecurity team, this professional: 

Security Monitoring and Response

• Serve as the regional lead and point of escalation for analysts. 
• Oversee completion of day-to-day checklist(s), including log review, management report scheduling & running, alert analysis, and escalation follow up activity status 
• Remain current on cyber security trends and intelligence (open source and commercial) in order to guide the security analysis & identification capabilities of the SOC team 
• Provide oversight and guidance to junior analysts and fulfill SOC manager responsibilities in the absence of the SOC Manager 
• Perform advanced event and incident analysis, including baseline establishment and trend analysis. 
• Provide timely advice and guidance on the response action plans for events and incidents based on incident type and severity. • Responsible for identifying training needs for the junior analysts 
• Ensures that all identified events are promptly validated and thoroughly investigated 
• When necessary, and with the SOC Managers approval, devise and document new procedures 
• Identify opportunities for SOC and client system tuning.

Documentation and Reporting
• Oversee documentation owned by the SOC team including but not limited to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Operational Level Agreements (OLAs) 
• Document and report changes, trends and implications concerning the design and integration of evolving systems and solutions

Content Developer 
• Improve and develop new content based on observed and measured SOC activity 
• Work with the SOC engineer manager and content development team to implement new or enhanced content

Incident Manager 

Follow detailed operational processes and procedures to analyze, escalate, and support the remediation of critical information security incidents

The Team 
Our IT & Systems team works behind the scenes, but is essential to the Deloitte organization. Our forward-thinking team members have the analytical skills needed to parse mountains of data and stellar communications skills needed to present research, discovery, and recommendations in a logical and easily understandable way. Our technologists provide IT infrastructure support and work with clients to develop custom enterprise applications. In addition the team develops and maintains solutions built on varied technologies like Siebel, PeopleSoft Microsoft technologies and Lotus Notes. The setup has various groups which provide effective solutions to the customers by following a streamlined system development methodology and comprises of groups like Usability, Application Architecture, Development and Quality Assurance and Performance

Education/Other: 
• BA or BS in Computer Science or Information Management and relevant work experience

Technical skills: 
• In-depth experience working in ArcSight and or SPLUNK 
• Strong background in security incident response, system operations and threat intelligence 
• Two or more relevant security certifications such as Certified Intrusion Analyst (GIAC), CISSP, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Offensive Security Exploitation Expert (OSEE), etc. 
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Experience of working in security information and/or technology engineering support 
• Experience with the following technologies: leading SIEM technologies, EDR solutions; Knowledge of IDS/IPS, Ant Virus Solutions, network- and host- based firewalls, data leakage protection (DLP), web proxies, DNS, windows/Unix system administration. 
• Understanding of possible attack activities such as network reconnaissance probing/ scanning, DDOS, malicious code activity, etc. • Strong knowledge on malware analysis 
• Understanding of common network elements devices such as routers, switches. 
• Understanding of basic networking protocols such as IP, DNS, HTTP, FTP, SMTP etc., and the OSI model. 
• Basic knowledge in system security architecture and security solutions.
