Work you’ll do
We are looking for dynamic professionals that are looking to broaden their careers in Tax and Oracle. As you build your career with us in Oracle within our Tax ERP team, you will be helping our clients to design, develop and implement systems architecture that best meets their business needs, in the rapidly changing tax and legal landscape.
You will be working alongside an experienced and growing team, to support our clients in ensuring that they have the right data, business processes and systems set-up for the future. You would be required to coordinate with the UK engagement leaders and clients to implement ERP Tax solutions in Oracle.
To be successful in this role, you should be able to align the global Tax and Legal landscape with the business’ activities and proposed wider business processes. You will be the lynchpin between the Tax Function and IT Function, ensuring that we build the best Oracle design for Tax for the client. This will require the ability to explain complex terms to a variety of different stakeholders, and in a way that is relevant to each stakeholder group.
Your service line: Tax Technology Consulting – NSE USI Tax ERP
Within Tax Technology Consulting sits our NSE USI Tax ERP team who specialize in implementing tax requirements within finance transformation programmes or system remediation programmes. We are a fast-growing team with a super-growth ambition. We undertake Oracle Cloud implementations in ERP, and these need a combination of Tax knowledge and Oracle solution design capabilities. Tax in Finance Transformations is a key differentiator for our practice globally.
As a Tax-focused Oracle Consultant, you will be part of the tax workstream on our engagements. You will have plenty of opportunities to work on large-scale projects as part of complex business transformations. You will work with a wide range of colleagues and clients around the world, exposing you to cutting edge tax technology work in a strategic, commercial, and business context. Key responsibilities
ü Knowledgeable about the Oracle applications functionality, with experience in Oracle Tax, in Cloud and/or eBS
ü Familiar with Oracle Cloud tools, templates and methods, and finance transformation delivery models (e.g., Waterfall, Agile)
ü Work as part of the project team to analyse the client’s tax and business requirements and build the optimal Oracle Tax design or supplement with the right mix of alternative technology solutions such as indirect tax determination engines, indirect tax compliance technology, or offline processes
ü Work alongside the project team to assess the key tax touchpoints across the end-to-end business processes and address the client’s particular tax requirements
ü Work with the project team to document new requirements, finalize system design, complete system integration testing and support user acceptance testing
ü Able to think logically while solving problems and present clear recommendation to our clients as part of suggested resolution
ü Work with Oracle Support to address system issues/ bugs and present a workable solution which addresses the client’s requirement
ü Provide regular updates to key stakeholders on product development processes, costs and budgets, achievements against plan etc.
ü Mentor and train junior colleagues in the team
ü Participate in development and delivery of training sessions either to the client or internally across the team
ü Work effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognized for their contribution
ü Continually research current and emerging functionality (Oracle or others) and propose changes as part of Deloitte’s Oracle offering
ü Help build internal efficiencies and accelerators for the proposition
Your professional experience
ü MBA or Chartered Accountant or Bachelor’s in Finance/ Technology from reputed University with overall experience in Finance, Accounting and/ or Taxation
ü Proficient in Oracle Fusion (experience of 4-7 years in Fusion/Cloud/ eBS combined) and/ or Oracle eBusiness Suite for Tax
ü Experience in project implementation lifecycle (requirements gathering, design, build, test, go-live and support) with at least 2-3 end-to-end implementations of Oracle ERP for tax
ü Client facing experience required i.e., experience in handling clients on day-to-day basis during requirement gathering to User Acceptance Testing phase
ü Basic accounting knowledge
ü Ability to understand client requirements, develop and suggest appropriate solution or workarounds in Oracle
ü Able to work with Oracle support to flag/fix issues – raising SRs and conducting OWC to explain problems and discuss workarounds
ü Proficient in preparing client-ready project deliverables i.e., requirement framework documents, key design decision documents, configuration documents, functional specification documents, test scripts and training guides
ü Has knowledge of configuration migration through “Rapid Implementation Spreadsheet” and data migration through Oracle tools like ADFDi, Desktop Integrator, FBDi templates
ü Proficient in planning work as per deadline and coordinating with the team to complete work within stipulated deadline
ü Comfortable communicating with members from other workstreams and able to collaborate to discuss and test solutions which has cross-workstream dependencies
ü Equipped with basic presentation skills, has an analytical approach to issues and able to analyse queries and respond to questions
ü Superior verbal and written communication skills in English
Preferred
ü Some knowledge of SQL script, OTBI and/ or BI Publisher would be preferable
ü Experience of other Oracle modules and processes, and knowledge of tax touchpoints in other Oracle modules e.g., Payables, Receivables, Fixed Assets, General Ledger, Consolidation
