Consulting- Project Controller-Analyst —Deloitte Support Services India Private Limited

Our Consulting National Practice Operations team provides a range of support to our Consulting Business Leadership. Working closely with project leads, you will engage with a range of senior stakeholders supporting large & complex projects for Deloitte.  

 

Project controllers provide support for various large projects at Deloitte. This includes financial management and modelling, providing valuable insight and application of financial management processes. Project controllers will be responsible for supporting one or multiple and their teams.

           

Work you will do

·       Develop and maintain financial models to support project budgeting, forecasting, and actuals for multiple projects.

·       Provide weekly project financial status reports to relevant project leads.

·       Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.

·       Track project expenditures, identify cost overruns, causes and consequences, and implement corrective actions as needed.

·       Provide project leadership and Consulting business leadership with early warning of potential financial distress through diligent monitoring of key financial metrics.

·       Take accountability for engagement financial discipline across the full project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements, and escalating non-compliant practices or behaviors as appropriate.

·       Take accountability for managing WIP, invoicing and debtors for controlled projects to ensure Day Sales Outstanding remain within acceptable limits.

·       Own engagement trackers and act as the primary point of contact for finance-related engagement queries

·       Assist the engagement team with financial scenario modelling and pricing queries, including financial inputs to project Change Requests.

·       Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including cash flow statements.

·       Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

·       Reconcile project tracking tool (engagement tracker) and finance system (SAP) regularly

·       Guiding engagement team by highlighting the broader impact of key engagement financial decisions

·       Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project management, operations, and senior leadership, to provide financial insights and support decision-making.

·       Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.

·       Engage with educate and influence internal business stakeholders, providing advice on emerging project issues and present recommendations to support project delivery. 

·       Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial controls and reporting accuracy.

·       Support the development and maintenance of financial policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.

·       Provide training and working with the project control team to continuously enhance our internal processes, quality assurance and capabilities in the team to support the firm.

Shift timings: 6.30 AM to 3.30 PM

Finance & Shared Services Australia

The “Finance & Shared Services” team at Hyderabad supports the Deloitte organization in Australia with a wide variety of capabilities like management and financial reporting, accounts payable, debtor management, payroll, data quality, finance system support, IT services, Business Intelligence development, client and engagement acceptance, and client contract management activities.

In addition, we have other sub-teams under FSS which provides services related to Assurance & Advisory (A&A). Project Controller-Consultant support Consulting in business units of Financial Services and Assurance & Advisory Quality & Review teams.

Key Skills Required:

·       Strong business finance acumen

·       Solid accounting knowledge, understanding of fundamental accounting principles and practices.

·       Experience with Project accounting, ability to forecast, track, and report project costs and financial performance.

·       Proven understanding of technology implementation projects, familiarity with the specific financial aspects of technology projects, including capital vs. operational expenditures.

·       Ability to provide strategic insights and recommendations.

·       Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, at engagement team and engagement leadership levels. Ability to effectively communicate complex financial information, and to collaborate with and influence project managers to ensure strong financial discipline.

·       Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities, for multiple projects, in a fast-paced environment.

·       High attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial data and ensuring compliance with financial controls.

·       Problem-solving skills, ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and assess deviations from budget, recommend solutions, and support corrective actions.

·       Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., SAP, Cognos, Excel, ServiceNow & Salesforce).

·       High ethical standards and professionalism.


Qualifications

Required

·        Graduate/Post Graduate (B.Com, BA, BBA) with Financial Background and strong analytical skills

Preferred

·        1-3 years of experience in project control, financial analysis, or a related role.

·        Proven experience in managing financials for large and complex projects.

·        Team player with a positive attitude, strong verbal and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills
