Contract Management – Assistant Manager, Quality & Risk

The Quality & Risk team is dedicated to making an integral contribution to the execution of the Firm’s strategy, supporting business success, the prosperity of our clients and upholding our commitment to the public interest. This involves carefully balancing practice protection and commercial imperatives by working collaboratively, and in close consultation, with practitioners and partners within Consulting and across the firm.   

We are currently seeking experienced and well-rounded contract managers to support our team on Consulting’s large and complex engagements. The successful candidate will provide support to the Australian team throughout the contracting lifecycle for consulting and operate services, ranging from deploying structured contract management processes for compliance of contractual commitments and deliverables to active monitoring and tracking of contractual obligations.

Work you’ll do

As an Assistant Manager, you should be able to consistently apply a base of knowledge to matters that arise, identify, and resolve exceptions to policies and professional standards in a timely manner. Your key responsibilities would include to oversee quality and deliverables of Contract Managers within your team who will be responsible to:

  • Review and monitor contractual obligations of the parties to validate that these are met in line with terms and conditions including obligations, deliverables, and key methodologies such as performance measures, productivity achievement and invoicing. 
  • Summarize and communicate essential contractual requirements and obligations. 
  • Manage process implementation activities, including identification of process improvement opportunities for contractual compliance practices. 
  • Create contract summaries, obligation trackers and other standard documentation for new and ongoing engagements.  
  • Understand stakeholder requirements and develop recommended approaches.   
  • Build relationships with program leadership and other stakeholders. 
  • Participate in risk and contract management process transformation projects.
  • Support senior management by handling various operational responsibilities.

Shift timings: 6.30 AM to 3.30 PM

Finance & Shared Services Australia

The “Finance & Shared Services” team at Hyderabad supports the Deloitte organization in Australia with a wide variety of capabilities like Management and Financial reporting, People & Performance, Finance system support, IT services, Business Intelligence development, Resource Management, Risk and Conflicts Management, and client contract management activities (to name a few).

In addition, we have other sub-teams under FSS which provides services related to Quality and Risk.

Quality and Risk team identifies, mitigates and responds to risk. It provides information on the policies, processes and consultation points that will help ensure quality in all the work that is performed by Australia member firm.

Key Skills Required:

·       Experience in contract management, sourcing or procurement roles where engagement and management of multiple parties in delivery was required. Ideally including experience with large technology delivery contracts

·       An understanding of technology product and service offering business and output based commercial models including confidence navigating technology product development activities through design, implementation, and delivery lifecycle stages

·       Contract management experience in complex information technology (IT) consulting, IT outsourcing, and IT professional services projects will be a vital asset

·       Strong leadership and communication skills. (e.g, the ability to engage senior stakeholders and leadership) and knowledge of legal and commercial terminology

·       Ability to review contract documents such as SoWs and CRs and provide redrafts and suggested wording to ensure that the obligations and commitments of both parties are clear, risks are understood, and deliverables are achievable.

Qualifications and experience required: [Assistant Manager]

·       Educational Qualification: MBA/PGDM (Finance) or equivalent qualification (Legal/Administration/Finance background) with 5 to 7  years of relevant business experience in contract or commercial-related functions.  

·       Excellent attention to detail and ability to review contract language and identify deviations. 

·       Ability to work and coordinate tasks with multiple stakeholders such as Legal, Finance, Procurement, etc. 

·       Ability to evaluate risks associated with extensive professional services engagements. 

·       Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding, deadline-driven environment and work autonomously. 

·       Experience in dealing with multicultural teams. 

·       Advance level in Microsoft Products like Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint 

·       Excellent English written and verbal communication skills; other languages will be an advantage. 

·       Ability to manage ambiguity and adapt to business needs as it evolves.  

  • Demonstrate leadership, team management, problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
