Job Title: Solutions Engineer - Core Finance – Record to Report (RTR)


Location: Global - Hybrid

Work you’ll do

General Responsibilities:

o   Advise team lead business owners on high level solution identification or feasibility.

Contributes to the “Solution Backlog” of items to be delivered

    • Work with Global Financial Services (GFS), Engaged Member Firms (MF) and Global S/4 Support Team to prioritize and navigate program processes for enhancements

o   Complies with standardized procedures, best practices and works with GFS and Global S/4 Support.

o   Provides input to product roadmap, planning, delivery, release management, and deployment to ensure technology standards and business needs are met.

o   Provide leadership, GFS and the appropriate member firm business leads with regular status updates and identified issues/risks.

o   Support facilitation of sessions with GFS, member firm business leads and Global S/4 Support team resources for status, planning and overall alignment.

o   Collaborate to support the strategic direction, operations, and maintenance for SWIFT Record to Report (RTR) processes within Core Finance including SAP S4 General Ledger, Journal Entry management, International Accounting, Profitability Analysis (COPA), Consolidations, Internal and External Reporting and support of Period/YE Closing Activities.

o   It will be required to complement the PTP (Procure to Pay) Team from an integration perspective with Core Finance Applications. Exposure to both Ariba and VIM are desirable

o   Aligns understanding with STT/GTD on system enhancements to gain full awareness over potential change requests and their impact on SWIFT.

Product Responsibilities:

o   Understand customer needs and validates the solution.  The solution engineer is the “internal” voice of the customer for these finance processes.

o   Provides sufficient solution detail in enhancements for approval via development/elaboration of Feature Sheets.

    • Outlines and works to establish inter-dependencies in advance to the overall system.
    • Works alongside and communicates RTR change requests within the relevant team members in GPO, and STT/GTD.
    • Supports the member firm sign off on feature sheets, functional specs and Member firm communications.

o   Works within the budget scope and budget allowed for Core Finance Record-to-Report.

o   Supports development of sufficient backlog for the team.

o   Participates in and supports system demos.

o   Conducts research on competitive products both internally and externally; Understands business and industry direction to determine and provide advice on product future.

o   Identification of SWIFT system improvements, specifically within Core Finance but also on interdependencies across areas in SWIFT.

o   Supports reduction of application related costs and increased efficiencies of applications

o   Integrate the business strategy and knowledge of software capabilities (current and future) to support vision and direction for all global finance S/4 products for vision and delivery initiatives.

o   Continually seeks opportunities for improvements in the SWIFT application.

o   Supports the growth and implementation of the global roadmap.

o   Maintains ownership over more general capabilities/features and collaborate with the delivery team owning the  detailed features/sprint planning for delivery.

Qualifications

o    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent educational or professional experience and/or qualifications.

o    Minimum of 5-6 years of in-depth experience in product development, SDLC, solutions design, and delivery of enterprise solutions.  Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is a plus.

o    Minimum 5-6 years of hands-on SAP FICO configuration experience.

o    Minimum 5-6 years direct experience with Finance solutions.

o    Knowledge of SAP tables and fields across finance.

o    Experience working with business owners and development teams to document and clarify business and user requirements and manage scope of defined features and functions during project lifecycle.

o    Proven expertise in supporting delivery of mid-to-large enterprise applications needed.

o    Technical experience in SAP S/4 HANA applications is a plus.

o    Ability to understand and relate to the business objectives and provide a high-quality automated solution.

o    Ability to adjust communications to both technical and non-technical audiences.

o    Must have strong analytical abilities, presentation skills, and organizational/planning abilities.

o    Ability to drive consensus and have vivid passion for product delivery.

o    Strong project management skills.

o    Experience in implementing quality guidelines, standards and procedures.

o    Creative - able to think outside the box; uses knowledge gained through prior experience, education, and training to resolve issues and remove project barriers.

o    Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers

o    Experience working directly with clients and providing consultation.

o    Strong written and verbal communication skills.

o    Collaboration and decision-making skills.

o    Ability to work productively with all levels in a large organization.

o    Ability to travel when required.

o    Flexibility to support occasional working outside of home time zone hours to support all geographies, particularly in the lead up to geography implementations or change request deadlines

  • Experience in SAP S/4 HANA Applications
