The Team

Accounting and Internal Controls

We help clients address issues and risks in accounting advisory services, financial reporting requirements, internal audit risk management, assurance needs, and internal controls services. We provide assistance on compliance, advise on critical business issues, and not only anticipate but navigate through each risk and opportunity with the client.

Our Financial Technology practice develops and licenses a growing family of proprietary software products (see http://www.deloitte.com/ft) to assist financial institutions with a number of complex topics, such as accounting for credit deteriorated assets and the administration of investments in leveraged loans.

Work you’ll do

The key job responsibilities will be to:

• Analyze and implement user requirements/business needs as new and/or enhanced product functionality

• Design, code, test, and document software code

• Supervise other programming resources (note, however, that this is a line position primarily involving software development on a daily basis, not a full-time management position)

• Assist in the packaging and delivery of finished software products to clients

• Communicate with technical and business leaders on business requirements, system-related capabilities, programming progress, and enhancement status

• Help support software sales efforts through presentations for, and technical discussions with, clients and prospective clients

Required skills

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.

• Strong understanding of OOP concepts, architecture, and design.

• A successful candidate should be analytical and detail-oriented, as well as team-oriented, but also be able to work independently.

• At least 3+ years of experience developing web-based client/server applications.

• Experience working with Microsoft’s ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Web API and ASP.NET Core Framework, especially using C# language.

• Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server.

• Experience with JavaScript (TypeScript or ECMAScript 7+) and at least one of the JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Ext JS, Angular or React).

• Experience with developing and using REST APIs.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong technical and organization skills.

Preferred skills

• Experience using GIT for source control.

• Exposure to DevOps practices and tools. Good to have experience in building and maintaining fully automated Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines in Microsoft Azure DevOps.

• Experience in developing cloud-based applications in a micro-services architecture would be a major plus.

• Experience in developing applications deployed on a public cloud (e.g., Azure, AWS or Google Cloud) would be a plus.

• Experience working with NoSQL Databases (e.g., MongoDB or Cosmos DB, etc.) would be a plus.

• Experience with various reporting solutions like Crystal Reports or Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, PowerBI, Tableau, etc. would be a plus.
